Feeling: Sad

I just got home from dropping my family off at the airport, and I'm really sad.

I'm sitting in the spot I was sitting in during our last minutes together here at the house, and it just feels so empty.

I snuggled in between my mom and dad with Steven at the other end of the sofa and we switched between watching Fixer Upper and Bob's Burgers to pass our last hours together.

I really miss them and it was the hardest thing to drop them off at the airport at 3:00 am, not knowing the next time we'd see each other.  Dad kept telling me not to be sad, that this was just the start of things to come, and I do believe him, but I'm also scared that time will move too quickly and keep us from our plans of one day living in the same city again.

I also think I'm getting sick, which isn't the best way to end a vacation.

So...  Being sick and heartbroken.

I miss my family so much.

Tuesday
Trace's birthday.  Got up early.  Trace made grilled cheese.  We cleaned up the dining room and then met his parents at Red Koi for Trace's birthday lunch.  From there, we went to Gibson's Donuts and came back to the house and had coffee before his parents headed back to Myrtle.  Then I made honey soy chicken and cleaned up Christmas stuff and then we played two games of Splendor.  Dad won the first in 5 minutes!  And then I sneakily won the second game.  Then Trace went to bed and we stayed up before heading to the airport.
